Walking Tours

The Campanile (Sather Tower)

9 am-3:30 pm | Free on Cal Day!
Take the elevator to the top of Berkeley's landmark bell tower for a breathtaking panoramic view.
Note: There are 38 stairs from the elevator landing to the observation deck; the deck is not wheelchair accessible.

Central Campus
10 am-3 pm | Blue Tour Tent, Dwinelle Plaza
Student guides take you on a one-hour tour. Learn about Berkeley's traditions, student life, history and architecture. Tours begin every half-hour starting at 10 am. Meet at the blue Tour Tent on Dwinelle Plaza.

Mandarin Tour
10 am & noon | Blue Tour Tent, Dwinelle Plaza
A one-hour Mandarin language tour will be offered by a student guide. Meet at the blue Tour Tent on Dwinelle Plaza at noon.

Spanish Tour
11 am & 1 pm | Blue Tour Tent, Dwinelle Plaza

The Berkeley Recreational Sports Experience

Fitness Center at Memorial Stadium

Campus Tree Trail Tour

Berkeley Arts + Design Tour

Join the Arts + Design Initiative on a self-guided tour of UC Berkeley's diverse arts and design landscape. Come to the Arts + Design Initiative booth in the Information Marketplace to participate.

Housing Tours

Residence Halls
10 am-4 pm
Thirty-minute tours of the residence halls depart from the locations below. Tours include an orientation and guided walk-through of student rooms, unit dining areas (where applicable), academic centers and other amenities. Last tour leaves at 3:30 p.m.
**Please note: All residence hall tours include stairs. If you are in need of an accessible route, contact staff when you arrive at each unit.

Meet in the All-Purpose Room of the complex (located at the lower level of the Central Building).

Take a 15-minute escorted tour of the “Hogwarts of Berkeley,” a mixed-gender residential college.

Berkeley Student Cooperative Housing

Sign up for a tour of selected co-op houses. Tours depart at 11 am (Northside) and 1 pm (Southside) from the Berkeley Student Cooperative Housing table in the Information Marketplace (visit bsc.coop for house theme descriptions).

International House

International House (I-House) is a multicultural residential living and learning community of nearly 600 Berkeley students and scholars from more than 80 countries (including the U.S.). Tour meets at front entrance desk.

Take a 45-miniute tour of CED’s design studios, library, design archives, research facilities, computer labs, simulation and prototyping labs, fabrication shops, galleries and café.

Tour this small-college home for students in the natural resources and social science majors set among historic buildings on the beautiful northwest side of campus. Meet at the CNR table in the Information Marketplace.
